Crabby Birthday!!

Today is my sweetie's 41st birthday. Happy birthday, Honey!!

I worked very hard last night, after American Idol of course, to make this card for him. I love this set and the sentiments that come with it. I cased a card in the gallery for this set, Crab & Company, on SCS for the design. I am not a card maker typically, but am improving every time!!

He liked it, and I hope you do, too!
Supplies Used: Crab & Company by SU, Real Red ink, Riding Hood Red cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Real Red ribbon, scalloped circle punch, all by SU. Designer Paper is Provo Craft.

Anakin's Pages

I have completed some more pages for Anakin's babyhood book, yay!!!

So, here ya go...

First up "Cute As A Button" 3 month page. I love using buttons!! I also borrowed my friend's Unity journaling stamp. I liked it!!
This layout is of some of my absolute favorite pictures. We took pictures of Anakin on the Plaza at his first Easter with the statues of the bunnies and ducks. I am not tooting my own horn, but I love how I look in those pictures. My BFF, Shelly, knows that if anything ever happens to me the pic by 2000 is my obituary picture! I know, morbid, but practical!!

Next up is his first birthday layout I did yesterday, but forgot to take pics of, oops! I will add that one soon! Here is my favorite one from this weekend's scrapping time. This was Anakin's first snow experience. We had lots of it, and no sled, so we improvised with a laundry basket.
Okay, there ya go! You are up to date, and I finished his first year!!!

Enjoy Everything,
Natty

Blog Candy and Cool Stamps!!

Well, they are both cool stamps...

I was directed to Victoria Case stamps from my friend Christy's blog. They are the cutest darned things ever!! Plus, she is giving away blog candy!! It was my first blog candy entry. You can enter here, but really I shouldn't tell you because that creates more competition for me!!!

I was also directed to Bombshell stamps. WOW!!! They are right up my alley. If you know me at all, you will understand!! Check them out here.

What to order, what to order?????

Enjoy everything,

Crystal's Challenge

I love a challenge! Until recently I never paid any attention to scrappin or card making challenges. Once I finally figured out what they were all about, I was hooked. I am highly competitive and hard to motivate, so they work for me!

So....My friend Crystal issued a challenge on her blog. (I'd link it, but it is private.) The challenge was to use multiple photos and multiple patterned paper with a holiday theme on a layout. Well, this truly was a challenge for me, because if you know me at all, you know I simply CANNOT mix patterns. It makes my heart palpitate and my blood pressure rise. Weird, I know...It's not just in scrappin, but in decorating, clothing, anything.

However, I did it...I made this layout in my quest to do Anakin's babyhood. I love this main picture. Grandma took him for these pics as a surprise to us in his little Rudolph outfit. I still have that outfit.
Picture them left to right in an album. Yes, I only used one mat of patterned paper. Baby steps...

Enjoy everything,
Natty

Yes, I Am Nuts...

I truly believe I have lost my mind. I have been scrapping for nine years, basically since my son's birth. Of course, like most people, my first pages are not wonderful. However, many are pretty good. However, I digress, I have never scrapped in chronological order. I have taken much flack for this, but it just didn't suit me.

Well, this is where I have lost my mind...

My son is now 9, and I have decided to go back and scrap his life in chronological order in my new album. Yes, I am certifiable.

I have started his school age albums (two of them) in chronological order, so I decided I must be consistent and do his baby days album the same. I realized I am not scrapping for just me, but to preserve memories of his life for him to have forever. So, it wasn't fair for me to just scrap what I like.

This is the first page of his baby album. I have very few pregnant pictures, and needed to get these safely in an album.

The paper is from the DCWV black and white stack and my friend Shelly's stash. The title is cut using Cursive 101 and welded in DS on Shelly's Expression. (I was at her house). The blue paper is Bazzill textured and die cut cardstock. The center strip is punched with Threading Water and the journaling is printed on vellum. The two quotes are from vellum quote stacks. I really like this page and am glad it starts out his album.

Enjoy Everything,
Natty

My Newest Favorite Thing...

Okay, I admit...

I am very guilty for jumping on the latest and greatest bandwagon of scrapping supplies. However, I think this new find is going to last for a long time...

My friend, Tessa, (Kraf*T*y Mama) told me about the D-ring albums from American crafts. Well, since I am a huge AC fan, I knew I needed to check them out. I have not been happy with my album situation for some time. I used CM albums and really didn't like having to trim the paper, then attach it to the page because I never scrap directly on the album page.

So...Hobby Lobby just happened to have the AC albums during their 50% off album sale, and I checked them out and was hooked! I chose the 12x12 customizable Modern Album. You can read all about it here. Anakin wanted me to decorate the outside, so I will be working on that soon.

I like the top loading page protectors as well as how roomy the album is. I know that I can fit a lot of pages into it. Here is a pic of the album before I do anything to it.

Stay tuned to see what I do to it!!

Altered Wipes Container

Okay, I am the first to admit...

I don't enjoy and am not good at altering items. However, I needed to make a candy container for a swap in my birthd
ay club on the cricut.com messageboard. My partner was Jenny, and I made this for her.

I think it turned out pretty cute! I used a Clorox wipes container that I covered in American Crafts cardstock and accented it with American Crafts ribbon. I have become a BIG fan of AC products lately! I used my Cricut Expression and cut out her name with the Storybook cartridge in coordinating Stampin' Up cardstock. Finally, I embellished with a few Prima flowers. Sorry for the poor picture quality. I took them with my iPhone...

It was so fun to do something girly!!! I hope she enjoys it!!!
